Hannah Troy has done it again with this ultra lovely 1950's cocktail party dress! Made of a glamorous silk fabric with a beautiful floral rose print. It has a fabric belt of velvet with a giant flower and a draped neckline for dramatic styling. The tiny waisted model is a standard size 2. I would say it's a size 0 or 2 for today's woman as the waist was quite tiny and we had to help her in and out of it. A metal zipper is up the back and it is lined with a fitted slip.
The measurements on this pretty vintage dress are approximately: 34+" in the bust 24" in the waist 35" hips.
Its 42.5" long from the bustline to the hem. Shown with a crinoline underneath that is attached.
This vintage designer dress is in excellent condition! Hannah Troy was a ready-to-wear firm that specialized in adaptations of Italian designs. She opened her business in 1937 and her career was at its peak from the late 1940's until her retirement in 1968. She supplied top Manhattan stores like Saks, Bergdorf Goodman, Bonwit Teller, Henri Bendel, Lord & Taylor, B. Altman and Bloomingdale's. She was known for innovating clothes that fit the petite woman, and specialized in both day dresses and evening wear. George Saman was the designer of the label in the late 1950s, and Murray Neiman did the designing in the 1960s.
