I was lucky enough to be among the privileged to have the opportunity to purchase authentic vintage hats, dresses, and other costume from the wardrobe department of Boardwalk Empire! I purchased 50+ vintage hats including men's fedoras, a top hat and 2 boaters. Within the clothing I bought was 2 dozen women's flapper dresses, 2 velvet evening coats/capes and lots of gorgeous men's vests and knickers. This piece is one of those items.
Made in the twenties, this Flapper style dress is made of black cut or burnt out silk velvet in a gorgeous, Deco floral motif. The scoop neckline is accented by maroon velvet in triangular designs. A rose in the same velvet gathers a draping of fabric off to the side where it is open for some leg to show! The billowy sleeves have a snapped cuff design. My favorite part of this dress is the fact that it is unlined and see through. You could chose sexy undergarments, or a complimentary colored slip to wear underneath. It's so sexy!
This dress is almost perfect. There is one tiny pinhole at the shoulders. In excellent vintage condition for a delicate garment of this age.
Measurements: Bust: 38 inches Waist: 39 inches Hips: 40 inches Length: 48 inches Shoulder: 19 inches Sleeve: 21 inches Size estimate: US 8
This is an original 1920s period dress from the set of Boardwalk Empire. It has no closures, just pull over the head to get on and off. There is a studio label that indicates it is from Boardwalk Empire season 4. I cannot attribute this to any particular person or actress, but I can guarantee that it is from the wardrobe department of the HBO series Boardwalk Empire. Authentic Hollywood costume memorabilia.
