From the first season of designer Daniel Jasiak, comes this vintage boho dress in cotton with a wool, crochet top. The playful style is very reminiscent of earlier times, from which Mr. Jasiak takes his inspiration. The earliest date (winter '94) highlighted on the label is from the very beginnings of his career, that makes this highly collectible. This piece is the 11th in the collection. With the help of an assistant, Jasiak sketches, cuts and stitches every item tagged with his name, working sometimes 13 hours a day in a cloth-strewn atelier in the basement of his shop. While Jasiak's multi-textured pieces have since graced such shops as New York's Henri Bendel's, recognition remains elusive. Not that he claims to care anymore. "I make clothes to educate people, not to make money," he said. This dress is made from a cotton and rayon blend fabric with a wool bodice. The sleeves have matching color accents to keep the piece in harmony. The signature style of Jasiak is that of a peasant with a mix of fabrics. He worked well with patchwork. I'll be listing another dress of his in patchwork soon. The sexy skirt has a full, open bottom. This dress is new/old vintage deadstock with the original tag from Henri Bendel and in excellent condition! Label: Daniel Jasiak Original tags: Yes, Henri Bendel Made in France Bust-36-38" Waist-36-38" Hips-free (about 46") Shoulder 18" Length-60" Model is a modern size 2, it was big on her but still looks great. I had a size 10 try it on, and it was too fitted and didn't hang right. My guess is anyone from a size 2 to a size 8 would look great in this.
